  • C Media Cmi8738 C3dx Audio Device Pci Windows 7

I recently installed a Windows 7 PC and I'm trying to set up an old sound card, the C-Media CMI8738/C3DX PCI audio device. However, I'm having some trouble getting it to work properly.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  • Installed the card in the PCI slot and booted up Windows 7.
  • Windows detected the hardware and attempted to install drivers but failed.
  • Tried searching for updated drivers online but couldn’t find anything official from C-Media that explicitly supports Windows 7.
  • Attempted using compatibility mode to install older drivers without success.

Has anyone used this card on Windows 7 successfully, and if so, how did you manage to get it working? Are there any third-party drivers or specific steps I should be aware of? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
