I've got an old netbook that came with Windows 7 Starter, and I'm trying to do a clean install because it's been running really slow lately. However, I've run into a bit of a snag—I can't seem to find the original product key. I'm not sure if it was ever provided to me since I bought it pre-installed, and I've misplaced any documentation that might have had it.
Does anyone know if there's a way to recover a Windows 7 Starter product key from the system, or is there another method to activate Windows after reinstalling, assuming I use the same hardware? Additionally, how complicated would it be to perhaps upgrade to a newer version of Windows on this older hardware, or should I stick with the Starter edition considering its limitations? Any advice on managing this without having to purchase a new OS would be appreciated!
