Today, I encountered a series of issues with my laptop while attempting to run The Sims 4. Upon opening my laptop, I noticed that the EA app had unexpectedly uninstalled itself. Subsequently, I faced a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with the stop code SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, pointing to a failure in wmiacpi.sys. Hoping to resolve the issue, I attempted to fix the EA app, but the problems persisted.
In an effort to address the situation, I took precautions by creating a backup image and ran the System File Checker (sfc) from the command prompt. However, this process led to another error, forcing my laptop to restart. Following this restart, I observed peculiar behavior, including the inability to dim my screen, an unusually long loading time between the welcome screen and my desktop, and various accessibility issues such as the start button being disabled, the taskbar malfunctioning, and the search function being impaired.
Despite my efforts to find solutions online, it appears that this problem may be unique to my situation or extremely rare, as I couldn't find any relevant information. Seeking assistance from websites is also proving difficult, as my laptop refuses to install updates (specifically encountering error code 0x80070643) and run certain apps (e.g., Get Help, Screenshot).
To troubleshoot, I've already uninstalled McAfee antivirus (I use SMADAV antivirus without any previous issues), but I remain uncertain about the next steps. I'm seeking assistance and guidance. It might be relevant to mention that I'm using a Lenovo Legion 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
