I was digging into my system info and noticed the OS version “10.0 19041.1” showing up in a couple of places (like winver and in some logs). I know that’s tied to Windows 10/2004, but I started wondering-how much actually changes under the hood between these “minor” build numbers (like the .1 at the end), versus the more obvious feature updates everyone talks about?
Does that last part of the version ever change outside official “feature updates”? Is it just internal for Microsoft, or can updates/service packs actually bump it on our PCs? Also, is there any way for regular users to track these minor changes in real time, or understand what was fixed/updated when that number changes?
Curious if anyone else ever looked into this, or has insight on how useful those minor revision numbers really are!
