Is anyone actually finding value in the Windows 11 Widgets panel, or is it just ignored by most of us? I’ve used Windows since 3.1, and almost every attempt by Microsoft to introduce some kind of “dashboard” (think desktop gadgets, live tiles, charms bar, etc.) has fizzled out or felt half-baked.
With the new Widgets panel, it seems Microsoft is doubling down-integrating MSN news, weather, and now even ads and third-party add-ons. But from a productivity standpoint, is anyone genuinely using these widgets regularly, or are they just more clutter competing for attention?
Is there a real advantage to having these widgets versus, say, proper configurable desktop tools or the classic taskbar capabilities? If you ARE using them, what’s your workflow, and what makes it worthwhile? Or do you, like me, wonder why Microsoft still insists on pushing these features instead of improving existing UX fundamentals? Interested to hear if anybody actually feels Widgets are a game-changer, or if we’re just seeing another soon-to-be-forgotten gimmick.
