Has anyone actually found a compelling reason to use Windows 11 Pro or Enterprise over just sticking with Windows 10 Pro, especially for power users? I keep hearing that Windows 11 is supposed to be more secure and modern, but from the PE (Preinstallation Environment) angle, it seems like they’re continuing to lock everything down, remove features, and make custom PE disks harder to build and use.
Is there really any technical benefit with Windows 11 PE for real troubleshooting, recovery, or deployment scenarios, or is it just more style-over-substance? I noticed a lot of basic tools and drivers are missing out of the box, and the restrictions on unsigned drivers and other workarounds seem worse.
Am I just missing something, or is Microsoft actually making things less usable under the banner of “security”? Curious if anyone’s managed to get a truly functional and flexible Windows 11 PE, or if everyone’s just sticking with Win10 PE images for now. Would love to hear real-world experiences, not marketing speak.
