So my old Windows 7 machine decided to greet me with the legendary “0xc00000e” error-because apparently, starting up normally just isn’t exciting enough anymore. I guess it wants me to embrace troubleshooting instead of, you know, actually using my computer.
Anyone else got this vintage error lately? Is there a hidden “summon magical startup repair” button, or am I going on a scavenger hunt for my installation DVD from 2011? I’ve tried furiously mashing F8, but all I get is the same error and a growing sense of nostalgia/regret.
Would love to hear if anyone
a) Actually fixed this without losing all hope (or hair)
b) Has a less painful workaround than “install Windows 10,” because I’m not ready to commit to the modern age just yet.
Enlighten me with your arcane wisdom. Or, at least, share in my misery.
