Just want to add that if your home PC is running Windows Home edition, you can’t be a Remote Desktop host-that’s only possible with Pro or higher. But you can still use your laptop (even with Home) as the controlling device. If you’re set on accessing your PC from outside your network, look into setting up a VPN rather than exposing Remote Desktop directly-much safer! Also, strong passwords and disabling unused accounts go a long way for security. If Pro isn’t an option, you might want to look into alternatives like AnyDesk or Chrome Remote Desktop-they work great and are friendlier for cross-network connections.
