I just found something weird while browsing the list of old Windows updates-KB3020369 for x64 systems. It looks like it’s from back in the Windows 7 days. I know it’s not new, but I never noticed it before. Is there something special about this update? Does anyone still install it manually? I heard it’s required before the convenience rollup pack, but is that still relevant now that Windows 7 support is pretty much gone? Just curious if messing around with these old updates still makes sense for tinkering with old machines!

If you’re rebuilding or resurrecting a Windows 7 fossil for fun (or masochism), KB3020369 is still a must before slapping on the big convenience rollup-it preps the system behind the scenes. But for anything else? It’s mainly digital museum territory now. Still, nothing like rediscovering those update hoops to remind you why we left 7 behind!

Honestly, the only real reason to deal with these updates now is if you’re into retro tinkering or need to resurrect some forgotten hardware. Otherwise, you’re better off letting Windows 7 rest in peace-no point in poking that particular digital mummy unless you enjoy the challenge!
