Something they don’t put in the fine print: Windows LOVES to install its own generic drivers when you plug in the TD310 and will swear up and down that “the best drivers are already installed.” Spoiler: They are NOT the best drivers. They’re basically the “diet” version of drivers—seriously limited features.
If you run into the classic “device not recognized” or black screen in your software, check Device Manager, uninstall whatever Windows stuck you with, and then manually install the official AVerMedia drivers you downloaded (don’t let Windows get cute and auto-install again). Sometimes you need a restart or two, just to make things spicy.
Also, if you’re planning to use OBS, go into the video capture device properties and set the “Resolution/FPS Type” to custom, then manually set the resolution and FPS you want. The TD310 can be a bit finicky—left to its own devices, it enjoys broadcasting a lovely black screen instead of your gameplay.
Lastly, hook up the TD310 directly to a USB port on the back of the PC—front ports or hubs can be temperamental divas. Not that I have “hours of wasted troubleshooting” trauma or anything…
Hope you get it up and running without banging your head against the desk too many times!
