I've a big problem with my acer laptop on a windows 8 OS. I've also an external HDD with a Debian 7.0 distribution, it's sure it's functional on an other PC which haven't any other hard disk in it.
So I would to boot my laptop on my external HDD USB with a Debian version.
Unfortunately it seems to be complicated with windows 8...
I've already tried : - to boot when my HDD was simply plugged => no match
- to modify the ordered list (which describe what kind of boot will be choose in fisrt by the laptop) putting HDD USB in first position instead of HDD0 which is the HDD windows => no match
- to convert the BIOS mode from UEFI to Legacy BIOS => complicated match
It was proposed to me to reset RAID Disk to non RAID Disk but I feel not it was the solution
- to install a software dual boot => complicated match
It created a boot interface where it was proposed to me to choose what OS i would to boot (there is 2 boxes : Windows/Linux).
But after a click in the Linux box (for my Debian), it nothing happens and the interface appears again after a reboot
My sentences are not very built like English man could do that. Sorry
I hope some people will answer!
